1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

My signature style has been described as: modern floral design as well as exuberant and lyrical. It is rich in color, and free and organic, and all designs are hand painted.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

When designing for a particular product category, say wallpaper, of course I am thinking about its application, but most of the time I just create a design from the heart. I don’t sketch my ideas down first. I just dip my brushes and go.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

I have lovely connections with all the teams I am currently designing with. I adore working with Clarke & Clarke right now especially. I think what inspires me most about them is that they are so open- minded and warm-hearted.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

I never “look” for inspiration. Inspiration is everywhere and it always finds me. The only thing required is to keep your eyes open to life, and be present in the moment. There’s so much in life to draw from. It’s incredible really.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

I think the most important thing is to listen to oneself and trust one’s inner voice. We all possess unique gifts. Stick to what you love doing, run with it, nurture it. Don’t be afraid of how it will be received. Just be true to that calling and be patient with it too. With devotion and love it will blossom in time. I have had to be very patient in my career, but I always held true to painting from the heart, producing work even when opportunities had not appeared yet.
